Ajuste de estatus
El ajuste de estatus permite que una persona elegible se haga residente permanente sin salir de Estados Unidos. Se presenta con el Formulario I-485, a menudo junto con un permiso de trabajo y un documento de viaje.

Preparamos el I-485 con los formularios que le aplican, incluido el examen médico (I-693) y la declaración de patrocinio (I-864).

Biométricos y permiso de trabajo
Después de presentar, acude a la cita de biométricos. Con el I-485 pendiente puede pedir permiso de trabajo y de viaje.

Salir de EE. UU. sin un permiso de viaje aprobado (advance parole, Formulario I-131) normalmente se considera abandono del I-485. Algunos titulares de visas H y L son excepción. Consulte antes de comprar boletos.
¿Puedo trabajar mientras mi caso está pendiente?
Puede pedir un permiso de trabajo (EAD) con el Formulario I-765 al presentar el I-485 y trabajar una vez aprobado.
